Reception Decor Inspiration Part 2

So last time I blogged about the reception, I spoke about the centerpieces. Turns out Wal-mart cannot order the vases for me, so I have to look for another afforable cylinder vase.

But my idea for the overall decor is lanterns. Specifically lit-up lanterns. I got the idea from another bride http://www.xanga.com/huinita/366539922/item.html. She had the most beautiful reception!




The trick is how to hang these lanterns up in our restaurant (if they will even let me!) and how to light them. I think the answer to the first question is to hang them from the pot lights. If we could somehow tie/attach the lantern cords to the potlights there would be no damage to the ceilings. As for how to light them, I've discovered long lasting battery operated lanterns and mini christmas lights. They should stay lit up for 12 hours+. Its not actaully that expensive, but it'll be hard work to put them up and take them down .... but they'll be so worth it don't you think?
